UK-based club percussionist and world class bongo player David H has performed at the biggest, best and coolest dance parties & festivals on Earth. Affectionately known as ‘The Bongoman’ (or, when in Ibiza, ‘El hombre timbale’) he has entertained and thrilled hundreds of thousands of clubbers across the globe, playing alongside the world’s top DJs, including Frankie Knuckles, Ferry Corsten, Pete Tong, Tall Paul, Erick Morillo and Fat Boy Slim to name but a few. He has held top flight residencies in Ibiza’s Manumission, Space, DC-10, El-Divino, Eden, Amnesia and Underground, as well as performing all over the world, playing in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia’s top venues.

David’s past major club UK residencies include Pussycat Club, Syndicate, The End and Fire. As Well as numerous guest spots his 2012 London residencies currently include Drum-House in Soho, Popcorn at Heaven and Wrong in Vauxhall. 2011 saw David perform successful tours in Portugal, Italy, Russia, Cape Verde and Malta. David starts 2012 in Malta and then will tour in Brazil, Miami, ibiza and eventually Australia.

His unique talent to complement any DJ and his ability to compliment all styles of house music is the reason for David’s renowned reputation a world class dance music percussionist. He is one of the most experienced professionals in the business playing drums for more than thirty five years. Naturally gifted, you only need to witness how he excites the crowd, taking them to another level, fusing the groove between DJ and dance-floor, to understand – just ask the thousands he’s performed in front of at events such as the ‘Essential Festival’ and both the London & Brighton Gay Prides recently!

During 2003, David regularly accompanied international superstar DJ, Mr C (the former Shamen frontman & co-owner of London’s infamous nightclub ‘The End)’ who has been quoted as saying, “I’ve played with a few percussionists and they’re all shit!” David though was the exception, with Mr C heaping praise on his talents. “I love David to perform alongside me – he’s the only drummer with passion, feeling and understanding. He adds a magical edge to the vibe, dancing with the beats with amazing crowd interaction. He posses a unique stage presence, plus he knows when to stop!”

Along with way, David has cemented his reputation as a talented international ambassador for dance percussion with gigs with Hedkandi, playing for the mighty Ministry of Sound in Taiwan and touring India and Russia for Bacardi. He never fails to rock a club and has quite obvious star quality. For him, it’s all about the ‘live’ performance, “I never know what the DJ is going to play… you have to feel the vibe… organically I connect the DJ to the dance-floor.”
